UCCRO delegation visits Ukrainian Welcome Center in London

On 30 January 2025, as part of a visit to London, a delegation from the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) visited the Ukrainian Welcome Center and the Cathedral of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski of the Eparchy of the Holy Family in London (UK) told the AUCCRO representatives about the religious life of the Ukrainian Catholic community in the UK and dialogue with other churches.

The Director of the Ukrainian Welcome Center at the Cathedral, Andriy Marchenko, briefed the Council of Churches delegation on the work of the Centre, the services it provides to Ukrainian refugees, the challenges they face, and the support provided to Ukrainians through the Centre by the UK Government and British society.

During their visit to London, the delegation from the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations met with a group of parliamentarians, the UK Prime Minister's Special Representative David Smith, Foreign Office analysts and took part in a roundtable discussion at Chatham House.

The UCCRO delegation participated in the advocacy visit: Representative of the Chairman of the Council of Churches, Bishop Igor Bandura (AUCECB), Metropolitan Yevstratiy (Orthodox Church of Ukraine), Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski (Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church), Bishop Anatoliy Kozachok (Ukrainian Pentecostal Church), Bishop Stanislav Nosov (Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ukraine), Priest Ruslan Mykhalkiv (Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine), Pastor Anatoliy Raychynets (Ukrainian Bible Society), Assistant Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine Gennady Bilorytsky (Association of Jewish Religious Organizations of Ukraine) and Oleksandr Zaiets (Institute for Religious Freedom).
