The World Council of Churches (WCC) has invited the global Christian community to unite in prayer for Ukraine, for a just and lasting peace, for an end to the war, for the protection of human life, and for support for all those suffering from the consequences of Russian aggression.
As part of its series of Global Prayers for Peace, the WCC invites individuals and churches around the world to join the Global Prayer for Peace in Ukraine, which will take place on 11 June at 13:00 Central European Time (CET).
The Global Prayers for Peace initiative, organized under the auspices of the WCC, seeks to bring together the worldwide faith community in a shared rhythm of solidarity, intercession, and hope.
Rooted in the conviction that prayer is both a witness and an action, this initiative reflects the calling of churches to stand alongside those who suffer and to uphold the dignity of every human being.
The Global Prayer for Peace in Ukraine has been prepared and organized in cooperation with the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO), which represents more than 90 percent of all religious organizations and communities in Ukraine.
We kindly ask you, where possible, to share this invitation through the official communication channels of your churches and religious organizations, as well as on social media, so that as many people in Ukraine as possible may join in this common prayer.
