On 10 September 2026, members of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) met in Kyiv with a German delegation from the state of Baden-Württemberg, headed by Manuel Hagel, Deputy Minister-President and Minister of the Interior, Digitalization and Europe of the State of Baden-Württemberg. The delegation also included representatives of law enforcement and security agencies, business and media from Baden-Württemberg.

During the meeting, UCCRO representatives introduced the German delegation to the format and work of the Council and spoke about the spiritual ministry and the social and humanitarian work of churches and religious organizations amid Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, about the role of the denominations in sustaining the resilience of Ukrainian society in wartime, and about the humanitarian situation and the challenges caused by Russian missile and drone attacks on civilians. Separately, UCCRO members briefed the delegation on the religious persecution of Ukrainian believers in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

In his remarks, Minister Manuel Hagel said that the visit of the Baden-Württemberg delegation was a visit of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, aimed at strengthening Ukraine's capabilities and developing cooperation. Following the meeting, the parties identified possible areas of cooperation and agreed on specific steps.

Taking part in the meeting with the delegation from Baden-Württemberg were: Representative of the UCCRO Chairman, Metropolitan of Bila Tserkva of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Yevstratiy (Zoria); Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church, President of Caritas-Spes Ukraine Oleksandr Yazlovetskyi; Bishop of the Ukrainian Pentecostal Church Vitalii Yatsiuk; Head of the Department for External Relations of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Ukraine, Mitred Archpriest Oleksa Petriv; Supreme Mufti of Ukraine, Head of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine Akhmed Tamim; and Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Religious Freedom Oleksandr Zaiets.

The meeting between UCCRO representatives and the German delegation was held with the assistance of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's office in Ukraine.
