The UkrBS is an interdenominational Christian organization with the goal to translate, print and distribute the Bibles and biblical spiritual and theological literature. The UkrBS Board consists of 22 denominations in Ukraine of Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant creed, who believe in the Bible as the Word of God, as well as the Religious Studies Department of the H. Scovoroda Philosophy Institute of Ukraine National Academy of Sciences.
The UkrBS is a member of the global fellowship of the United Bible Societies, which includes 150 national societies and covers more than 240 countries and territories. Objective of the UkrBS is to provide access to the Word of God to every person, regardless of social status, language, denomination, or age in the most convenient and understandable way.
The UkrBS has published and distributed more than 16 million copies of the various biblical editions, including more than 5,5 million – under nationwide charitable projects. In 2020, the UkrBS presented the translation of the Ukrainian Bible Society in contemporary Ukrainian language, and in 2023, the translation of the Bible with the Deuterocanonical Books. The UkrBS operates in Ukraine through four regional offices (Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Kherson).
