Seventh-day Adventist Churches
The Adventist movement as a further phase of the Reformation emerged in the early nineteenth century. In the 70s of the nineteenth century, the first missions operated in Europe, and Adventism came to Ukraine in 1867. Adventists preach the imminent Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
The governing body of the SDA in Ukraine is the Ukrainian Union Conference (UUC), which unites 8 regional conferences. The SDA Church has about 42,000 members, 750 congregations and 192 groups. Its educational facilities include more than 1,000 Sabbath classes/schools, a higher education institution - the Ukrainian Adventist Center for Higher Education (UACHE), the Ukrainian Adventist Theological Institute (UATI), 21 secondary schools, 25 child development centers, preschools, and kindergartens. The SDA Church has a TV channel "Nadiya" and a publishing house "Dzherelo Zhyttia" (Source of Life). It also pays attention to medical and health programs: it runs 7 sanatoriums and the Angelia Medical Center in Kyiv. It provides humanitarian aid through the ADRA Ukraine Charitable Foundation.
