Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ukraine
Adventist movement as a further phase of the Reformation has appeared in the XIX century among Baptists, Methodists, and other Protestant formations. In the 70th of the XIX century, the first missions in Europe were established. Adventism came to Ukraine in 1867. Adventists preach the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The governing body of the SDA Church in Ukraine is the Ukrainian Union Conference (UUK), which consists of 8 regional conferences. It is the third evangelical association of Ukraine by the number of congregations. It has about 45,000 members grouped into 772 congregations and 250 groups. There are 1 higher educational institution and a theological institute, 18 secondary schools, 32 centers of child development, pre-school, kindergarten. More than 1,000 Sabbath classes/schools for the Bible study. TV "Hope", radio "Voice of Hope", publishing house "Source of life" are functioning.
The SDA Church focuses on health and wellness programs using 7 health centers and a medical center in Kyiv. It also provides humanitarian assistance through the ADRA Ukraine charitable foundation.
